OVERVIEW
The 2 Day Akagera park safari offers a brief glimpse of Rwanda's incredible Akagera national park, which is teeming with a variety of wildlife, including the recently trans-located rhinos, lions, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, antelopes, topis, jackson hartebeests, and other wildlife and bird species.
TOUR SUMMARY
- Day 1: Transfer to Akagera national park – Boat cruise on Lake Ihema.
- Day 2: Morning game drive and return to Kigali/Kigali airport.
DAY 1: Transfer to Akagera national park – Boat cruise on Lake Ihema.
- On the first day of the 2 Day Akagera Park Safari. Depending on your location in Kigali or your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be greeted by a representative of our company who will also serve as your safari guide. He will introduce himself and provide an overview of the safari. After that, travel for two to three hours to reach Akagera national park, which features breathtaking landscapes. Upon entering the park, drive to your reserved lodge while viewing wildlife en route. Check into your lodge, have lunch and in the late afternoon, take a boat ride on Lake Ihema where you are going to sight the land and water animals, such as elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes, that travel to the lake to drink and bathe the boat cruise provides breathtaking views of these animals. Expect to see hippos, crocodiles, and various waterfowl. Later in the evening, take evening game drive in the park's savannah region and expect to see many animals, notably predators such as lions. Return to your lodge, rest, take dinner, and spend the night there.
DAY 2: Morning game drive and return to Kigali/Kigali airport.
- On the second day of the 2 Day Akagera Park Safari. You will wake up early in the morning and be served with breakfast. After you will meet with your safari driver for the morning game drive exposes you to numerous creatures, such as buffaloes, elephants, leopards, lions, and rhinos. Expect to see giraffes, hippos, Kobs, Zebras, Bushbucks, and waterbucks, among other species. Forests, swamps, lakes, and the Savannah are all sites where bird species can be observed. This will take roughly four hours.
- After the morning game drive return to the lodge for lunch then check out of the lodge after lunch and return to Kigali. Depending on your plans, the safari guide will either take you to the airport to check in for your flight home or to a location of your choice.
