OVERVIEW
Enjoy the beauty of Lake Bunyonyi on day one of this four-day safari tour, and then spend the next three days trekking mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

DAY 1: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
- On the first day of 4 days gorilla trek and Lake Bunyonyi. Your safari guide will welcome you and pick your either from Entebbe International Airport or your hotel. He will brief you about the 4 days gorilla trek and Lake Bunyonyi. After you will embark on your journey in the morning with breakfast, in Kayabwe where you will enjoy and experience equator through taking various photos and witness the line that marks the halfway point between Southern and Northern Hemispheres. After breakfast you will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi in the Kabale region, also known as the Switzerland of Africa while using Kampala-Masaka road that takes you nine hours to reach Lake Bunyonyi. Make a second lunch stop in Mbarara at Igongo cultural centre to enjoy the organic and tasty food before continuing on to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda's deepest lake and located near to the country's border with Rwanda. Mount Muhavura, a spectacular volcano, is visible on clear days. Along the way you will enjoy the blissful views of the beautiful landscapes when entering Kabale. Upon your arrival you will check in, enjoy dinner and a night's stay at either the Birdnest (Ultra-luxury) or the Bunyonyi Overland Resort (Budget & Mid-range).
DAY 2: Canoe Ride and transfer to Bwindi National Park.
- On the second day of 4 days gorilla trek and Lake Bunyonyi. Wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. After breakfast, you'll meet with your safari guide and head out on the water in a rented canoe to explore the area and look for birds on the 29 Islands of the Lake.You will enjoy the serene environment, spot various bird species like grey crowned cranes, levillant cuckoo, white tailed monad, African harrier hawk, egrets, cardinal woodpecker and among others and spotting other animal species. After the canoe ride you will return to the lodge for lunch, and then in the afternoon you will check out and be transferred to Bwindi Forest National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the location of the world-famous gorilla trekking activity. After arriving you will check in and have dinner, evening relaxation and overnight stay at either Bwindi Jungle Lodge (mid-range) or the luxurious Four gorillas safari lodge.
DAY 3: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi.
- On the third day of 4 days gorilla trek and Lake Bunyonyi. Get up early in the morning and take breakfast. After an early morning breakfast, you will meet with your guide and report and the park headquarters for your Gorilla briefing. You will be given a document outlining the rules and regulations for your time in the jungle with the gorillas. The Bwindi Forest is awe-inspiring, providing visitors with a dramatic, steep, and highly dense forested terrain that is laced with various animal routes. In addition to the endangered Mountain Gorillas, other wildlife found in the forest includes numerous kinds of birds, buffalo, elephants, black-fronted duiker, bushbuck, leopard, and giant forest hog. Please remember to bring packed lunch and plenty of water with you, as the time it takes to visit the gorillas will vary depending on their habits. Gorilla trekking takes you 30 minutes to 6 hours while looking for them, and once found you can be given one hour to be in their presence while watching them feed, playing, taking their pictures, recording their videos and seeing the gorillas in their natural habitat is a thrilling and life-changing event. After that one hour you can go back to the starting point to get your gorilla trekking certificates. If you are still having energy you can do optional cultural tours to the people that stay around Bwindi, the Batwa people through interacting them, visiting them in their homes and many others. After meet with your safari guide and go back to your above lodge for dinner, evening relaxation and overnight stay.
DAY 4: Return to Kampala.
- On the fourth day of 4 days gorilla trek and Lake Bunyonyi. Wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. After breakfast, you'll begin the journey back to Kampala, stopping in Mbarara town for lunch on the way. This will be the final day of your 4-day Gorilla Trekking and Lake Bunyonyi safari. Transportation to Entebbe Airport or to your hotel.
