OVERVIEW
5 Days Bwindi Gorillas and Wildlife Safari takes place in most popular nature and wildlife national parks in Uganda; Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will trek mountain gorillas in Bwindi National Park and take part in game drives and a boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park during your 5-day Uganda safari with Munda Africa Adventure. Depending on where you would prefer to be picked up, this 5-day Bwindi Gorillas & Wildlife Safari will start and end in Entebbe or Kampala.
TOUR SUMMARY
- Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.
- Day 2: Morning game drive/ optional lion tracking experience and afternoon boat cruise.
- Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park.
- Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park.
- Day 5: Departure to Kampala.
DAY 1: Pick up and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.
- On the first day of your five-day Bwindi Gorillas and Wildlife safari, our driver guide will meet you at Entebbe Airport or at any location in Kampala and give you a brief introduction of the safari. You will then begin the approximately six- to seven-hour drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a stop for lunch along the way in Mbarara at Igongo cultural centre to taste organic food. After lunch proceed to the park with the gorgeous views of the tea plantations, various beautiful tree species, crater lakes and among others. Upon your arrival in the park, you will check into your lodge and have afternoon game drive where you can see a variety of species, including elephants, buffalo, Uganda kobs, and waterbucks and various bird species. After the game drive you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 2: Morning game drive/ optional lion tracking experience and afternoon boat cruise.
- On the second day of the 5 days Bwindi gorillas and wildlife safari, you will wake up early in the morning and take a leisurely breakfast, after breakfast meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains where you will be able to see various animal species such as elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, buffaloes, bushbucks, warthogs, predators like lions, leopards, hyenas if you are lucky and different bird species. You will go to the lodge for lunch after the morning game drive.
- You will meet your driving guide after lunch to embark on an exciting boat cruise on the waterway that connects Lake George with Lake Edward, Kazinga channel. You can see amazing wildlife during the two-hour boat cruise, including hippos, Nile crocodiles in the water, elephants, buffalo, waterbucks drinking along the banks of the river, and many different waterbird species, including the African Jacana, Yellow bellied stork, Aadark, African fish eagle, Pelicans, Egptian goose, martial eagle, papyrus gonolek, and many more. You will return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.
DAY 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
- On the third day of the 5 days Uganda gorillas and wildlife safari, you will wake up early in the morning and take a hearty breakfast, after breakfast you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park you pass via Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park. You’ll go on an exhilarating enroute game drive where, if you're lucky, you'll have the chance to see tree-climbing lions resting in the branches of fig and acacia trees. After drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with the lunch enroute, after lunch proceed with your journey with wonderful views of the landscape along the way to Bwindi, upon your arrival you'll check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park.
- On the fourth day of your five-day Bwindi gorilla and wildlife safari, wake up early in the morning and you will have an early breakfast, bring a packed lunch from the lodge, and meet your driver guide to travel to the park headquarters for a briefing on the guidelines and expectations for gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you will begin a 30- to 6-hour jungle trip through a dense forest where you can see additional primates including L’Hoest’s monkeys, baboons, bird species, and plant species, among others. When the mountain gorillas are located, you will be given the opportunity to spend an hour with them in their natural environment, giving you the chance to learn more about their way of life, habits, and behaviors as well as to snap pictures and record the videos though using the cameras with no flash.
- After the one-hour encounter with the gorillas, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your driver guide to go for an optional cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the Batwa, learn about their culture, way of living, enjoy their traditional performances among others. You will return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.
DAY 5: Departure to Kampala.
- On the last day of your five-day Bwindi gorilla and wildlife safari, wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. After check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide to take you to Kampala. You will pass via the towns of Kabale, Ntungamo, and Mbarara on the way, where you will stop for lunch. You will continue travelling after lunch with another stop near the Equator where you may snap pictures and even shop for souvenirs. There are several craft stores where you may get items like artwork and crafts. You will continue your journey from the Equator to Kampala, where your driver-guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport in time for your next departure or any other location in Kampala.
