OVERVIEW
Kidepo Valley National Park, the most remote national park in Uganda, may be seen in three days Kidepo flying wildlife safari. The safari takes you to the virgin destination with the stunning wildlife harboring a couple of the extinct species of wildlife that can’t be found anywhere else in Uganda. On a 3 days Kidepo flying wildlife safari you will enjoy the game drives, visiting exceptional hot springs in the park in the scenery landscape.
TOUR SUMMARY
- Day 1: Fly to Kidepo and afternoon Game Drive.
- Day 2: Morning game drive and Hot springs visit in Kidepo Valley.
- Day 3: Fly back to Entebbe.
DAY 1: Fly to Kidepo and afternoon Game Drive.
- On your first day of the 3 days Kidepo flying wildlife safari. You will be picked from Entebbe International Airport on a regularly scheduled domestic flight run by Aero-link, which only runs on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday and leaves at 12:30 and arrives in Kidepo at 14:45. You will enjoy stunning aerial views of the verdant countryside during your two-hour journey.
- When you arrive at Apoka Airfield, your driver and guide will be waiting to take you to the lodge to check in and for lunch. Later, go on a game drive through Kidepo's breathtaking landscapes, including the enchanted Narus Valley, where you have a good chance of seeing a variety of wildlife, including herds of Cape buffalo, African elephants, Jackson's hartebeest, Klipspringer, Jackals, and perhaps lions among other animals. After the game drive you will be taken back to your lodge for evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay. Accommodations: Kidepo Savannah Lodge and Apoka Safari Lodge.
DAY 2: Morning game drive and Hot springs visit in Kidepo Valley.
- On your second day of the 3 days Kidepo flying wildlife safari. Wake up early in the morning and be served with breakfast. After breakfast, get ready for another exciting game drive across Kidepo Valley's huge Savannah to see the early raisers including the elephants, zebras, spotted hyenas, lions, leopards, black-backed and side-backed jackal, eland and many others and viewing of the beautiful bird species like little weaver, yellow-rumped seedeater, broad-tailed warbler, marsh tchagra secretary bird and others, across a few borassus palm patches and ascending picturesque hills. Before the sun's rays descend into the infinite valleys of Kidepo and Narus valley, take in the breathtaking views of the morning sun rising over the hills of Lomej, the Lotukei Mountains near the Sudan border to the north, and the Morungole range on the southern boundary of Kidepo.
- After the morning game drive you will return to the lodge for lunch and some downtime before taking a drive to the Kidepo Valley, which is near to the border with South Sudan, to explore the kanangorok hot springs. While there are ostriches in the area, their numbers are seriously threatened by poaching by South Sudanese. You will return back to your lodge for the evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Apoka Safari Lodge/Kidepo Savannah Lodge, as mentioned above, for dinner and overnight.
DAY 3: Fly back to Entebbe.
- On your third day of the 3 days Kidepo flying wildlife safari. Wake up early in the morning and be served with breakfast. After breakfast meet your safari driver and embark on another game drive, depending on the time of your return flight, to enhance your chances of seeing anything you might have missed the previous day. After lunch, go back to the lodge and then transfer to Apoka airstrip for your return flight to Entebbe, which will leave at 15:00 and arrive at 16:30, allowing you to connect with your next flight or be taken to your lodge in Entebbe.
