OVERVIEW
10 Days Uganda and Rwanda safari will ensure you have an amazing time during your safaris by taking part in a number of activities like gorilla trekking and, golden monkey trekking in volcanoes national park, boat cruise on Lake kivu where you will see a number of attractions like the different primate and bird species, chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk in Nyungwe national park among other activities. Additionally, you will get to travel to Uganda, where you will visit Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is home to four of the country's big five animals, and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will go gorilla trekking to make the most of your 10-day Uganda and Rwanda safari.

DAY 1: Arrival and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
- On the first day of your 10-day Uganda and Rwanda safari, upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your safari guide, who will welcome you to Uganda, and provide you with a briefing of a safari in the countries. Along the way you will have a stopover for photos at the equator and participate in experiments of the north and south hemispheres. And after with a second stopover for lunch in Mbarara town at Igongo cultural centre on the way to the park. There, you will sample various cultural dishes like millet bread, Eshabwe, and among tasty dishes, which is quite an adventure to taste the authentic dishes. After lunch you will proceed with your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park with the impressive views along the way of the tea plantations, crater lakes and among others. Upon your arrival you will check into your lodge, and go for the afternoon game drive to watch the incredible animal species like the lions, elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, topis and various attractive bird species. After the game drive you will get back to the lodge for dinner, relaxations and overnight stay.
DAY 2: Early morning game drive and Evening boat cruise.
- On the second day of your 10-day Uganda and Rwanda safari, you will get up early in the morning and take breakfast, then meet your safari guide for an early morning game drive. On this game drive, you will have the chance to see a variety of early risers, such as elephants antelopes, buffaloes, elands, and impalas, among other animal species, grazing in the plains and bird species like the cattle egrets, raptors, Black kites and among others. After the thrilling experience, you will return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation before the evening boat tour.
- After lunch, you will meet your safari guide and proceed to an afternoon boat cruise along Kazinga channel, which will give you a broad view of the surrounding area and a chance to see large schools of hippos in the water and crocodiles, various animal species along the water shores like elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs and among others. Without forgetting the impressive water bird species along the water body like kingfishers, little grebes, cormorants, African Jacana and among others. After the afternoon boat cruise you will return to your accommodation to relax, dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National park.
- On the third day of 10-day Uganda and Rwanda safari, you will wake up early in the morning and be served with a hearty breakfast, then check out your lodge and meet your safari guide and travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, which is home to half of the gorillas remaining on the planet, with the enroute game drive through the Ishasha sector, where you will have the opportunity to see the tree-climbing lions. Continue to Bwindi, with the enroute lunch, while observing the beautiful landscapes along the way. Once you arrive you will check into your lodge for dinner, evening relaxation and overnight stay.
DAY 4: Gorilla trekking.
- On the fourth day of your 10-day Uganda and Rwanda safari, wake up early in the morning and take breakfast, together with packed lunch meet your safari guide and takes you to park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations to do during gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will be divided into various groups of 8 members, with the presence of professional guide you will go into the jungles to look for the mountain gorillas. The activity takes a period of 30 minutes to 5 hours regarding to the location of the gorillas as these creatures keep on moving looking for food. Once they are found you will spend an hour with the gorillas after finding them and making contact with them, watching them play, feed, taking their pictures and recording their videos. After the one hour you can go back from the starting point and be given a gorilla trekking certificate for taking part in gorilla trekking. And then drive back to the lodge for relaxation through evening walks around the lodge, dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 5: Transfer to Volcanoes National park.
- On the fifth day of your 10-day Uganda and Rwanda safari, you wake up early in the morning take breakfast then check out from your lodge, meet your safari guide and you will travel from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Ruhengeri, where Volcanoes National Park is found. Upon your arrival you will check into your lodge and take lunch. From lunch you can have an optional community walks in the evening, where you'll have fantastic experiences learning about the local communities' cultures through traditional dancing and dishes made by the residents while they're amused. You will return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and to spend the night.
DAY 6: Golden monkey trekking.
- On day 6 of your 10-day Uganda and Rwanda safari, wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. Meet your guide and drive you to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for the briefing about the rules and regulations to do during golden monkey trekking. Like the way it’s done in gorilla trekking. You will be divided into groups of eight people and explore the forest to look for the golden monkeys. The activity takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours and once the monkeys are spotted you will be given one hour in their presence, this is where you will get to watch them climb trees, taking their pictures and recording their videos. When your trip is over, you will be transferred to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation before continuing to the cultural visits Iby’wacu cultural villages, where you will have the opportunity to learn about the local way of life.
DAY 7: Dian Fossey hike and Transfer to Lake Kivu.
- On day seven of 10 day Uganda and Rwanda, get up early in the morning and take breakfast, after breakfast, meet your safari guide you'll get the opportunity to visit the Karisoke research centre for a walk to learn more about Dian Fossey's contributions to the protection of mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park. As you make your way to Dian Fossey's tomb via the mountains, you'll see a variety of monkey and bird species in addition to other sights after you will be taken to your lodge for lunch.
- After the lunch you be transferred to Lake Kivu for a boat cruise that is both exciting and relaxing. You will see a variety of sights at the lake, including water birds. And after you will be transferred for a leisurely dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 8: Transfer to Nyungwe forest National Park.
- On Day 8 your 10 days Uganda and Rwanda safari, upon after an early morning breakfast check out and meet your safari guide and, you will embark on your journey and be transferred to Nyungwe National Park, upon your arrival check into your lodge and enjoy lunch, after you will see a number of primate species like Rwenzori colobus, black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, baboons, owl-faced monkeys, Angola colobus, L’Hoest’s monkeys, Dent's Mona monkeys, vervet monkeys, silver monkeys. After you will proceed to your lodge for dinner and a night's stay.
DAY 9: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk.
- On day nine of your 10-day Uganda and Rwanda safari, you will leave for the park after an early breakfast to take part in exciting activities. After arriving at the Uwinka reception area, you will receive a briefing on the dos and don'ts for chimpanzee trekking. With chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe National Park, you can follow various habituated chimpanzee troops and learn more about them. For example, you can observe them eating edible leaves, fruits, small insects like caterpillars and termites, among other things. You can also observe how a habituated troop goes about its daily business and how its members get along with one another, all of which will help you develop an understanding of chimpanzees. You will have the chance to see a variety of bird species while participating in the activity, including the long-tailed bluebird, paradise flycatcher, Great blue turaco, forest hornbills, orange and white bird, and others. After your exhausting activity in the park, you will return to your lodge for some relaxation and lunch.
- After a leisurely lunch, you will return to the park to take part in the canopy walk, where you will see the park from an overhead perspective. The canopy walkway is only present in Nyungwe National Park, which is the only park in Rwanda and East Africa. During the activity, you will get to witness several primates swinging from one tree branch to another, as well as a variety of birds and butterflies. At the conclusion of the activity, return to your lodge for dinner and the overnight stay.
DAY 10: Transfer to Kigali
- After an early breakfast on day 10 of your Uganda and Rwanda safari, you will check out of your lodge and travel to Kigali. Once there, you will have lunch and be taken on one of the most rewarding Rwanda tours, during which you will see a variety of attractions and visit a number of sites like Kigali genocide memorial Museum, which is also accessible during the Rwanda genocide. Your 10-day safari through Uganda and Rwanda will come to an end after your guided city tour of Kigali when you will be transported to the airport or any a place of your choice in Kigali.
